What is "The 1646?"
Some people who are not familiar with the reformed tradition have been asking what "The 1646" meant. In short, The 1646 was named after the year in which the famous Westminster Confession of Faith was written. This is the doctrinal statement that many modern-day Presbyterian churches across the globe commit themselves to as secondary to the Scriptures. What this means is that Presbyterians (like ourselves) believe that what is written in the Westminster Confession of Faith is in essence a faithful explanation of the Bible's teachings on particularly important topics.
